Event Description:
How informed are you about the California mid-term election ballot? How do you decide how to vote on the issues? Or which candidate best serves the public interest? Most of us turn to the news, but how do we know what information to trust? Attend the campus VOTER FORUM to learn about the candidates and propositions and to demystify the campaign messaging. This event is an interdisciplinary civic engagement project between students in Jour 365 News Literacy and Coms 309 Advanced Public Speaking who are collaborating with the Newseum in Washington, DC and the League of Women Voters. During the event, we encourage you to use social media to share what you learn.
