These new technologies complicate everything from how we know what’s true to what we consider authentic art or creation. While we don’t yet know the full scope of how these advancements might help or hinder society\, we do know that critical\, ethical thinking around these developments is key. This year\, we are asking students in the U.S. and Canada to think about the ethics behind artificial intelligence technologies like ChatGPT. Specifically\, we are asking: \nWhat are the most important and ethical principles technology developers should consider as they shape the future of artificial intelligence? \nStudents are invited to share their thoughts with us via video submission. As Marshall (2016) writes\, teachers have predominantly been represented in popular culture as saintly\, un-intellectual nurturers\, or the opposite\, as monsters\, all the while presenting a misogynistic view of the teaching profession that’s dominated by women.
