DESCRIPTION:This Media Literacy Week\, we’re talking fandom\, politics\, and critical thinking\, all through the lens of Taylor Swift. The Media Education Lab and Swifties4Hope team up to explore how the worlds of fandom and politics overlap and diverge. Together\, we’ll reflect on how we can support our favorite political candidates passionately while still thinking independently. \nSince our girl knows Aristotle\, it only feels right to remind ourselves that\, in his words\, “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” We’ll put that idea into practice\, since being both a fan and being an informed citizen start with asking good questions. Join us as we apply the 5 Critical Questions of Media Literacy to some of our favorite Taylor Swift lyrics.
