SUMMARY:Thomson Reuters Media Literacy Contest
DESCRIPTION:We live in an increasingly digital world – media is no longer just information we see or hear from journalists. Anyone has the ability to create and disseminate content\, but it is not always done in a responsible or professional manner. Critical thinking and media literacy are key skills that are needed in today’s world. This year\, we are asking students in the U.S. and Canada: \n“How do you use media literacy skills when creating and sharing media?” \nStudents are invited to share their thoughts with us via video submission. We encourage teachers to leverage the resources we’ve created to present this\nas a learning opportunity in their classrooms. \nWhen: The deadline for submission is October 7\, 2022 at 5pm ET. \nWho: The contest is open to middle and high school students from the United States and Canada. \nPrizes: Up to five (5) students will be selected from this contest to receive a virtual mentorship opportunity with a Reuters journalist.
