Event Description:
This week schools and organizations around the world are celebrating the 4th annual Media Literacy Week. Media literacy is the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, communicate, and create using all forms of communication. In this session, explore fun, engaging, and essential media literacy practices for the Ed Tech classroom.

We Hear You: By Students For Students

Event Description:
Students will produce short segments which examine issues of media literacy that they are passionate about. They will complete online forms ahead of time in order to design topics and create production teams. They will create short videos about their topics. We will also have a table set up to shoot person-on-the-street style interviews. All of this will be live-streamed on Facebook.

Pop-up Media Literacy Interviews

Event Description:
A team of three undergraduate students will be conducting and filming interviews throughout Media Literacy Week across Saint Vincent College’s campus. The interviewing team will appear at random times at different locations on campus asking students about their media use, understanding of media literacy, and other probing questions to encourage students to think more critically about their media use.
