Exploring Decision-Making Through Media Literacy Course

This project-based course immerses middle school students in media literacy as investigative journalists in a simulated newsroom. Students tackle challenges like evaluating information, clarifying values, identifying bias, and communicating effectively, culminating in a student-produced newscast. Throughout, they apply Decision Education principles to strengthen judgment, recognize biases, and make structured decisions. In the final unit, students shift from producers to critical consumers as they analyze real-world media.
